On September 22, 2006, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention released its revised recommendations for, "HIV Testing of Adults, Adolescents, and Pregnant Women in Health Care Settings." Click here to view these recommendations.

ATTENTION AIDS Service Providers: Beginning January 1, 2006, the Medicare program will offer an outpatient prescription drug benefit, Medicare Part D, to all Medicare beneficiaries. The Office of AIDS will host a series of Medicare Part D trainings designed to provide practical information to help AIDS Service Providers in their role of assisting clients with Part D-related issues. Senate Bill 1159 (Vasconcellos, Chapter 608/Statutes of 2004) became effective January 1, 2005 - This legislation allows for the creation of the Disease Prevention Demonstration Project in participating local health jurisdictions. The authorization permits pharmacies to sell syringes without a prescription to individuals over 18 years of age.
