ABOUT the Division...
The Division of Communicable Disease Control (DCDC) works in partnership with local, national and international health officials, health care providers, and the public to monitor health, identify and investigate existing and potential health problems, develop and implement prevention strategies, conduct research, provide education and training, and formulate and advise on public health policy. It is hoped that the material presented here will grow to reflect and support this mission.
Currently, the Branches and Programs index at the left serves as an overview of our organization and its activities as well as providing links to specific DCDC program offerings. More detailed information about DCDC, including contact phone numbers, can be found on our Directory page.
On our Publications page can be found reports, guidelines and other informational items published by DCDC. Issues of California Morbidity which present detailed epidemiologic investigations, treatment guidelines, and other material of interest to health care providers and the public health community, are posted on the California Morbidity page. And our Disease Tables page contains communicable disease summary reports for California dating back to 1995.
Our Resources page is a collection of links to allied or affiliated public health agencies and organizations as well as other internet web sites which contain health information.
