Start is a State-funded school-community collaborative grants
for integrating services to meet desired results and to support academic success
for children, youths and families.
The Children's Partnership
undertakes research, analysis, and advocacy to
place the needs of America's nearly 70 million children and youth, particularly
the underserved, at the forefront of emerging policy debates. The hallmark of
The Children's Partnership is to forge agendas for youth in areas where none
exist, to help ensure that disadvantaged children have the resources they need
to succeed, and to involve more Americans in the cause for children.
Coalition for Community Schools
is an alliance of national, state and
local organizations in education K-16, youth development, community planning and
development, family support, health and human services, government and
philanthropy as well as national, state and local community school networks. The
Coalition advocates for community schools as the vehicle for strengthening
schools, families and communities so that together they can improve student
learning.
21st
Century Community Learning Centers. The
focus of this program, re-authorized under Title IV, Part B, of the No Child
Left Behind Act, is to provide expanded academic enrichment opportunities for
children attending low performing schools. Tutorial services and academic
enrichment activities are designed to help students meet local and state
academic standards in subjects such as reading and math.

Foundation Consortium
is an
alliance of corporate, private, community and family foundations that share
a common vision for California's children, families and communities.
California Council of Local Health Officials (CCLHO).
The mission of the CCLHO is to prevent disease
and promote the health of the public. The Conference was established by statute
in 1947 to advise the Department of Health Services, other departments, boards,
commissions, and officials of federal, state and local agencies, the Legislature
and other organizations on all matters affecting health
