California Department of Public Health' Cancer Prevention and Nutrition
Section (CPNS) was established in 1986 to develop technical capacity in the
California Department of Public Health, for implementing large-scale dietary
improvement measures. Its activities include the development and implementation
of the 5 a Day-for Better Health! Campaign in 1988, California Dietary Practices
Surveys starting in 1989, and the Nutrition Network for Healthy, Active Families
Campaign and the Skin Cancer Prevention Program in 1998.

Agriculture (USDA) Food and Nutrition Services (FNS) Child Nutrition Programs

Agribusiness industry, providing the expertise necessary to develop a pyramid
that best represents the truth about healthy eating.
