Data Quest:  California Public School Enrollments is California Department of Education's source of data for California schools and districts.  Includes enrollments, dropouts, academic performance, and more.

 

UCLA's California Health Interview Survey (CHIS) provides public health information for and about California's diverse population. Categories related to adolescent health include health status, oral health, mental health, injury and violence prevention, and child care/parental involvement. Data is available for California or by county, and searchable by age, race, gender, and/or federal poverty level.

 

 

Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Division of Adolescent and School Health (DASH) seeks to prevent the most serious health risk behaviors among children, adolescents and young adults. Take a look at the Health and Behavior Statistics on youth.

 

The Annie E. Casey Foundation: Kids Count offers several interactive online databases that allow visitors to create free, customized data reports on-the-fly. The report choices vary by system, but include the ability to generate custom profiles, line graphs, maps, and rankings, and download raw data.

 

Children Now has tracked California children’s well-being through the California County Data Book and has made this information available to community members, policymakers, advocates and the media. Published every two years, the Data Book contains county-level statistics about California children's health, education, family economics and child welfare.

UCLA Center for Health Policy Research is a major policy research institute based at UCLA and is affiliated with the School of Public Health and School of Public Affairs. Established in 1994, the Center has become one of the nation's leading health policy research centers and the premier source of health policy information for California.

 

California Healthy Kids Survey is a comprehensive and customizable youth self-report data collection system that provides essential and reliable health risk assessment and resilience information to schools, districts, and communities.

The CDC's Youth Risk Behavior Surveillance System (YRBSS) monitors six categories of priority health-risk behaviors among youth and young adults; these behaviors contribute to physical inactivity and other serious health risks.

 

State Health Facts Online is a project of the Henry J. Kaiser Family Foundation and is designed to provide free, up-to-date, and easy-to-use health data on all 50 states. Statehealthfacts.org provides data on more than 450 health topics and is linked to both the Kaiser Family Foundation website (www.kff.org) and KaiserNetwork.org (www.kaisernetwork.org).
