UCLA's Center for Mental Health in
Schools (1) highlights
the need for a broad perspective in thinking about and justifying "mental
health" in schools, (2) promotes a working draft of comprehensive and
multifaceted guidelines that provide a basis for operationally defining mental
health in schools, (3) proposes an integrated framework for promoting healthy
development and addressing barriers to learning at a school site in ways that
can expand the impact of mental health in schools, and (4) pursues a wide
variety of strategies designed to advance the field.

Association of School Psychologists.
The mission
and goal of the California Association of School Psychologists (CASP)
is to secure and sustain programs that support the profession of
school psychology by providing for the educational and professional
needs of school psychologists, advancing public awareness about the
contributions of school psychologists, and enabling individual
school psychologists to function effectively in the schools and
communities in which they serve.
California Department of Social
Services. Today, in a society
that has become increasingly diverse and complex, CDSS strives to
carry out its mission of providing aid, services and protection to
needy children and adults. At the same time, the Department strives
to strengthen and encourage individual responsibility and
independence for families.
California Department of Mental
Health,
entrusted with leadership of
the California mental health system, ensures through partnerships
the availability and accessibility of effective, efficient,
culturally competent services. This is accomplished by advocacy,
education, innovation, outreach, understanding, oversight,
monitoring, quality improvement, and the provision of direct
services.
California Institute for Mental
Health was established in 1993 with a declared
mission to "promote excellence in mental health services through training,
technical assistance, research and policy development." It was the specific
intent of the local mental health directors who founded CIMH that CIMH would
work collaboratively with all mental health system stakeholders. The commitment
to collaboration has led the board to reorganize itself, expanding board
membership to consumers, family members, and other interested persons
representing the public interest.
California Association of
Licensed Educational Psychologists (CALEP)
was founded over 25 years ago shortly after the
implementation of the LEP license. Since then, LEPs have helped thousands of
parents, students and schools to work together to improve education.
National Association of Social
Workers (NASW); CA Chapter
is the largest membership organization of
professional social workers in the world, with
153,000 members. NASW works to
enhance the professional growth and development of its members, to create and
maintain professional standards, and to advance sound social policies.
California Association of
Supervisors of Child Welfare and Attendance is an
organization comprised of school and community professionals who are dedicated
to improving school climate, safety, and increasing school attendance. We create
a network of professional support, mentors and educators, and we influence
relevant legislation and advocate for the needs of students, families, and
schools.

Substance Abuse and Mental
Health Administration (SAMHSA). SAMHSA's mission
is to build resilience and facilitate recovery for people with or at risk for
substance abuse and mental illness.

California School Health Centers Association
promotes the health and
academic success of children and youth by increasing access to the high quality
health care and support services provided by school health centers.
The
Health Resources and Services Administration's (HRSA)
