The Epidemiology and Program Evaluation Unit (EPEU) serves as a resource for the prevention and control of chronic diseases in California. The unit works with several California health programs concentrating on the area of chronic disease control and management. Some of our services and activities include:
  • Surveillance and Monitoring This activity includes collecting analyzing and providing information on chronic diseases.

  • Program Evaluation and Other Data-related Services Our program evaluation team provides structure and guidance for monitoring and evaluating population-based and targeted interventions.

  • Epidemiological Research Coming together to conduct solid research, the unit emphasizes creative thinking in investigating the epidemiology and prevention of chronic diseases. Research findings have been presented at various meetings and conferences.
