1632 - Requires schools to allow students to
wear sun-protective hats while students are outdoors
on campus. Also obliges school staff to allow
students to self-apply sunscreen when students are
on campus.

Did They Pass SB 310 [The Precursor To SB 1632]?

This three-page document describes the two-year
process required to pass SB 310, the precursor bill
to SB 1632.
- Filante Tanning Facility Act of 1988 [Includes
the update of AB 2193 in 2004 and AB 105 in 2008]
Tanning facility regulations.
- SCR 25 - Urges employers to identify and correct work site hazards connected to UV radiation. Encourages adoption and implementation of a workplace skin cancer prevention policy along with provision of sun-safety education for employees.

663 - Provides, per specified conditions, that lifeguards who get
skin cancer are eligible for workers' compensation benefits.
