The California Department of Health Services (DHS), Food and Drug
Branch (FDB) is a regulatory agency with a primary focus on food
safety and security. Our main program objective is the protection of the public
from unnecessary risk of illness, injury, and death from exposure to
unsafe foods. FDB offers information on food safety laws, regulations
and guidelines established for the safe preparation of food. FDB does
not provide financing or business tips for starting up and maintaining
a business. For general food safety information resource links are
also provided.
