Violence Against Women

Violence against women and girls is a devastating public health problem that affects individuals, families, communities and our society as a whole. It includes intimate partner violence, sexual violence, human trafficking, and other forms of violence or abuse committed by acquaintances or strangers. According to the National Violence Against Women Survey, approximately 1.5 million women are raped and/or physically assaulted by an intimate partner each year. If we are to end violence against women, we must strengthen efforts to develop comprehensive approaches that prevent violence from happening in the first place. To learn more, see the links below.
