individuals and organizations concerned with the burden of cancer on Californians. The California Dialogue on Cancer (CDOC) was formed to provide guidance for the comprehensive plan. The plan was released to the public May 2004. |

1993 Breast Cancer Act
This act shall be known and may be cited as the Breast Cancer Act of 1993. It is the intent of the Legislature in enacting this act to fund essential research and services with respect to the cause, cure, detection, and prevention of breast cancer, and breast cancer education. |

1993 Breast cancer: written summary of treatment alternatives
This bill amends Section 1704.5 of the Health and Safety Code. It states that physicians and surgeons shall provide
patients being treated for any form of breast cancer a written summary of their alternatives. |
The Breast and Cervical Cancer Mortality Prevention Act of 1990 (Public Law 101-354)
The act established the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's National Breast and Cervical Cancer Early Detection Program. The program provides breast and cervical cancer screening exams to underserved women. |
